The commie Manifesto by Karl Marx Karl Marx (1818-1883) has been established (post-mortem of course, like almost only greats, it seems) as one of the most influential thinkers and writers of modern times. Although that essay failed, there are still points in his work that I find relevant in todays society. On page 230, he mentions that top-ten amount of measures that will be applicable in communist countries. Number 9 is just plain lunacy. Combination of agriculture and manufacturing industries gradual abolition of the trace amongst town and country by a more equitable distribution of the population over the country (230).
